The department of History and theory of International relations is an educational and scientific structural subdivision of the Russian-Tajik (Slavonic) University and works as an independent unit since the order of the rector RTSU dated February 28, 2003 № 08 "Changes in the structure of the Faculty of the history of international relations." The department of "International relations" was formed as a result of the division of the department of "World History and International Relations." The first head of the department was Doctor of History, Professor D.L Latifov.
July 7, 2010 by the decision of the Academic Council of the University Department of "International Relations" was renamed to the Department of "History and theory of international relations." The department provides educational, methodical, scientific research, educational work among students. The aim of the department is to train specialists, bachelors and masters in the field of "International Relations" and "Regional", based on the implementation of educational programs in the field of higher education.
Educational activities
In connection with the transition to a two-tier system of higher education in 2010, the department began training bachelor's degree in "Bachelor of International Relations with the knowledge of the English language" with the qualification in the specialty "Bachelor of International Relations with the knowledge of the English language 'and masters in the direction of" Regional Studies.
At the department applied conventional types of control knowledge bachelors and masters; interim certification, final control in the form of "set-off" or "exam" and state certification. The department provides a great job of organizing the educational process innovation. Along with traditional occupations, often organized debates, student mini-conferences, round tables, etc. Many innovations are reflected in the publications of scientific and methodological directions. One of the most important forms of organization of educational process is educational and industrial practices, which are an integral part of the learning process and an important means of connection between the theoretical study and practical activities. In its work , the department is focused on training a new generation of deep owning the theory of international relations, with the skills of analysis, modeling, forecasting, international relations, foreign policy planning, owning information technology and the art of business communication. Educational activities are considered teachers of the department of history and theory of international relations as an inseparable component of the educational process aimed at creating conditions for the development of a future competitive specialist with higher education, which has high culture, intelligence, social activity, as a citizen, patriot, perceives the world around him diversity and interaction of cultures, religions, traditions and customs.
The department for the past two years the practice of organizing meetings students of international relations with the representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the Republic of Tajikistan, employees of the Russian Embassy in Tajikistan and the Tajik Foreign Ministry staff, during which students have the opportunity to learn more about the features of their future profession. There were also organized meetings with alumni students of International Relations of previous years, which is also shared their experience in various departments and agencies of Tajikistan. Information support of educational activities carried out promptly and with the help of a student's active branch of the "International Relations". An important form of summing up of activities and media coverage is the design and placement of photo exhibitions congratulations to the winners’ parades, contests, competitions of different levels, stand design department.
